Polyarylate / LCP
Polyarylates are a family of aromatic polyesters. There are three different manufacturers who produce these high performance fibers nowadays. Vectran® is the most known and the largest and is used frequently in ropes, sails and woven fabrics. This polyarylate does not absorb water and has a higher tensile strength than para-aramid. Vectran® also handles abrasion and fatigue much better than para-aramid and could be an excellent alternative.
