Meta-aramid

Meta-aramid is a close relative of para-aramid. Nomex® is a famous brand, but others exist on the market. Meta-aramid is an aromatic polyamide with a high elongation and a relatively low tensile strength. The fiber resists again high temperatures and various chemicals as well as UV and is used in protective clothing, in heat and hydrolysis resistant fabrics and as cable protection in aerospace.
